What is the Break Free Project?
The Break Free Project is aimed at transformed lives, we engage people who are at risk of criminal behaviour, gang affiliation, and drug dependency, we do this through testimonies and drama productions, founded on our success stories who have earned resilience and learned experience.
Where it all started…
In 2004 Tony Hoang was converted on the streets of Cabramatta out of the depths of criminal activity and drug dependency. In 2006, Tony has shared his redemption story in hopes to help those trapped in gangs and drug addiction - the Break Free Project was birthed. In 2008, Tony’s story has turned into a full multimedia drama production called “The Break Free Drama" which has been performed across Australia in the last decade, seeing more than 4000 people attended. In late 2008 it caught the attention of the media and was subject of two national documentaries, (Gangs of Oz on Channel 7 & SBS Once Upon a Time in Cabramatta on SBS) along with being interviewed on the top radio stations and newspapers across Australia. Tony continues to impact today’s culture by changing lives with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Today Tony is involved in other prevention and intervention initiatives that aim to mentor others to do the same.
